365 days of Crochet Flowers
Share
Why hello there!
If you are following me on Instagram and on my Facebook page, you would have noticed me posting A LOT of flowers. Well, it’s almost been a whole month’s worth! Can you believe January is just about over? Looks like this year is going to follow suit like 2017 and fly by.
It just hit me that I had posted the free patterns up for my #365daysofcrochetflowers, but never did a little blog up about them! Well 27 days late is better than never lol. If you’ve seen that long post of patterns, you would have read that it’s about making a different flower each and every day (except the first and second because I got bored with the same flower).
I have loved loved LOVEd making a new flower each day. It has been challenging at times, when I’m up at night just before bed time, sometimes falling asleep crocheting (shh I know you do it too), or first thing in the morning when creativity is at its best. I just hope I have enough left in the tank to keep going for the rest of the year. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how it all pans out.
What are you going to do with them all? I hear you asking…. well if I’m being honest, I have a few ideas floating around in my head, but none are sticking. So they could be turned into a few pieces or just one big one lol. One is sticking out a bit more than the others. Do you want to know? Oh of course you do….
Okay, no need to twist my arm more… BEDSPREAD. I’m picturing a lightly crocheted base where you attach each flower individually. YES!! I know it’s a lot of attaching but I can just see the finished piece now. A beautiful garden bed (get it hehe) of flowers laying wonderfully on your bed. There may even be some matching cushions or a shawl in there too.
Any how, enough with all the words an reading boring-ish stuff. Here are some photos of what I’ve done so far. Once I get a little bit more organised I plan to translate to UK terms too and compile into an ebook.
See below for months, January, February and March.
ALSO one quick little note… I have added this to Ravelry so you can add it to your Projects and keep a track of what you make and also so other people can see your beautiful garden. Click here to go there .
UPDATE: Colours and Yarn.
So I have been using up my stash of DMC Natura Just Cotton and a 3.5mm hook (these two are my go-to’s for each other) The colours I am using are… (and yes of course I’ll have to buy more lol)
– Prussian (64)
– Star Light (27)
– Blue Jeans (26)
– Amaranto (33)
– Turquoise (49)
– Chartreuse (48)
– Bamboo (76)

Have fun and Happy Hooking!
Much love,
Em xoxo
